The number of vibrations per cycle of a vibrating body is one second is called its frequency. PITCH
It is the characteristic of sound by which we can distinguish between a shrill and a grave sound.
The pitch of a sound depends upon the frequency of the sound. A higher pitch means a higher frequency and vice, versa. The relation between frequency and pitch of sound is illustrated
