  • Give them water.
  • Make sure they drink lots of fluids before, during, and after playing or other activities.
  • Check that they drink before they get thirsty, which is a sign they may already be dehydrated.
  • Avoid sodas, iced tea, and other caffeinated drinks. Caffeine is a diuretic, which makes you pee more and become dehydrated quicker.
