Ans. In Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), the symptoms at onset may be mild, but gradually worsen within a few days and may result in death if not properly treated. The symptoms are:
1. Bleeding from mouth, nose and gums.
2. Lymph and blood vessels are damaged.
3. Black vomit and stools, an indication of internal bleeding.
4. Lower number of platelets and white blood cells in the blood.
In Dengue Shock syndrome (DSS), which is the worst form of dengue and can be fatal, mild symptoms become severe, such as:
1.   There is intense stomach pain, disorientation and vomiting.
2.   There is high fluid leakage from the blood vessels resulting in a cut down supply of blood to vital organs resulting in a state of shock.
