Wrap the ice cube in wire gauze and drop in a test tube almost filled with water. It will settle down.Hold the test tube and heat it near the neck with Bunsen flame. Observation: Soon the water in the upper part of tube will start to boil but ice in bottom melts slowly. It shows water is bad conductor of heat.
