Materials taht allow only some light to pass through them are called translucent.e.g oil,tissue paper,frosted glass,ice,sunglasses etc.Light does not pass directly through these materials.It changes direction many times and is scattered as it passes throiugh.Therefore,we cannot see clearly through them.Objects an they other side appear fuzzy and unclear.They form a lighter shadow.
