Moon is a non-luminous object because it reflects light coming from the sun.

A luminous body must emit light by itself through fusion reactions like sun and other stars.Fusion reaction is responsible for emission of light in luminous bodies.

Anything which revolves around sun or other stars is called planet. And any astronomical body which revolves around planet is natural satellite.

However moon is a natural satellite of earth and a solid body like earth which is capable of reflecting light and hence the solar and lunar eclipses(where we can observe the phenomenon). Not only moon but also earth and other planets reflect light. To conclude planets and natural satellites are non luminous bodies since there is no source for generating light by themselves.
