Skin is an important organ of our body.It performs many functions such as it covers the body altogether.It stops the germs and dirt from getting into the body.

One key to eating healthy is to remember that colorful fruits and vegetables are more healthy than white ones, and that the more organic and natural you go, the better for you the food will be. In other words, raw colorful veggies like peppers and greens are better for you than cooked starchy veggies like potatoes or corn.

Another key is to get rid of "junk food," which is mostly sugar and non-nutritious starch without anything healthy in it. Ditch the fast food and pre-packaged snacks. Avoid sodas and energy drinks and sugary mixes. Eat only a tiny amount of sweets per day - 1/2 cup is a normal portion for most sweets -- and most people nowadays eat several times that amount in one meal!

Some examples of healthy foods are veggietables such as carrots, cucumbers, celery etc.

Dairy products such as eggs, milk, cheeses, yogurt, etc. Vegetables, carrots, squash, sweet peppers, onions, yams, tomatoes, potatoes (skin on when you cook them is best), and ALL leafy green veggies such as brussel sprouts, broccoli, types of lettuce. There are many more choices of vegetables that have come in from other countries. I live in British Columbia Canada, so we get a lot of the Chinese vegetables that are very tasty. Fruits of all kinds, especially oranges, apples, papaya, mango, bananas, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, etc. Whole grains are important. Eat brown bread with flax seed, grains included. Red River Cereal is excellent and oatmeal is great for lowering cholesterol. Olive oil to cook in is far better than butter. STAY AWAY from things with too much sugar, salt or fats. It's OK to "pig out" one day out of the weekend, but remember "we are what we eat!" 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water per day to flush out toxins from the body and to also flush out unwanted fats. Exercise whether it's a 1/2 hour brisk walk a day, swimming, tennis, bike riding, or joining a gym is a must and it's important to get your heart rate up. Before going strong on the exercise go for a good physical from your doctor and get your heart and blood pressure checked out. Be sure to wear good walking shoes or runners.

Healthy foods are not things like Taco Bell or McDonalds, or any other fast foods, which have unhealthy preservatives. Don't let their signs fool you. This is the type of M.S.G., hydrogenated oil, aspartame, processed food that can damage your health. Cokes, gum, or anything else that has aspartame, or MSG, or other additives, or too much sugar, is bad. Some soaps and shampoos, etc., are bad for similar reasons. Sodium Laurel Sulphate (S.L.S) is one of the worst things to use. Eat plenty of raw vegetables and fruits, and plenty of alkalining foods, like almonds. Too much acid is also bad. Most healthy foods are ORGANIC. Try to eat organic foods whenever possible
