Punjab mostly consists of alluvial plains of the Indus River and its four major tributaries in Pakistan: the Jhelum, the Chenab, the Ravi and the Sutlej. There is a network of canals for irrigation purposes throughout the province. Several mountain regions are also found in the Punjab, including the Sulaiman Mountains the Margalla Hills with thick and lush forests and the Salt Range.
