When a fruit breaks open or dries up, its seeds may fall into the soil near the plant. Sometimes the seeds are carried away to places far away from the plant by wind, water or animals. Some seeds are collected by humans and planted in the soil.
Seeds are spread in various ways. They can be spread by the wind, an explosion, water, and animals.
wind: plants such as dandelions have seeds and when the seeds start to get loose the wind blows them off the plant and away to another spot.
explosion: some plants explode and when they do seeds pop out traveling a distance of at least 1 meter.
water: when seeds are spread by water first they need the wind to get the seeds to the water. the wind carries the seeds until they fall to the ground if a seed doesn't get to the ground it will land on water and could possibly travel over seas before it reaches dry land.
animals: if an animal is being walked as if brushes against plants it will pick up seeds on its coat then as it is running the seeds fall off the animals coat. seeds can also be spread by an animal eating a plant and once it has passed through the animal and has landed on the ground in the animals waste the plant can reproduce.
