Why reversible reactions never complete?

Answer. It is the characteristic of reversible reactions that they proceed in both directions i.e. forward and reverse and establish equilibrium state. In these reactions not only reactants react to form products but products, also react to form reactants. At equilibrium state, rates of consumption of reactants and reformation of reactants are equal. As a result, reactants never finish and reactions never complete.
