The amount of carbon dioxide is higher in exhaled air as compared to atmospheric air. Why?

Ans: Exhaled air contains more carbon dioxide because when a person breathes oxygen is used in cellular respiration and carbon dioxide is produced which diffuses from blood into the air in lungs.
