Vaginal foreign bodies are objects that don’t belong in the vagina and are put or left there by accident or on purpose. They can include tampons left in too long, bits of broken condoms, and fabric fibers. See your doctor if you see unusual bleeding or discharge, especially if it smells bad.
If the foreign object is still inside, your doctor will remove it. You may need pain-numbing drugs or be sedated for the procedure.
