This is a type of reconstructive surgery that can restore the look and workings of your pelvic organs. It’s designed to improve the support to the uterus or vaginal vault. Your own tissue (or vaginal mesh, discussed below) is used to fix or suspend the sagging pelvic organs. Your surgeon will make a cut in the vagina and use stitches to attach the vaginal vault to a ligament in the pelvis. The stitches may be permanent or dissolve over time.
