1. In this combination, the magnitude of current that flows through each individual resistors is the same.
2. The sum of voltages across each of the resistor is equal to the voltage of the battery connected across the combination.

The equivalent resistance of a series combination is equal to the sum of the individual resistances of the combination. i.e. Re = r! + R2
