Urinary stress incontinence is when an activity, such as coughing or sneezing, causes a small amount of urine to leak from the tube urine passes through (the urethra). Stress incontinence (SI) is the most common type of incontinence among women, especially older women. Women who have given birth are more likely to have stress incontinence.
