This test measures how long it takes you to fall asleep (sleep latency) during the day. You’ll take four or five scheduled naps every two hours. The first nap starts two hours after you wake up in the morning. Most people take 10-20 minutes to fall asleep. People with narcolepsy (and other sleep problems) can take less than five minutes to nod off.
