Albinism is when your baby is born with little or no melanin, a pigment that gives skin its color. It most often affects the skin, hair, or eyes. It’s caused by a faulty gene. People of any race can have albinism, and there’s no cure for it. The condition makes you much more likely to get cancer and sun damage, so you need to wear sunscreen at all times.
