Hemangiomas are a type of birthmark. They appear when many tiny blood vessels bunch together and raise off your baby’s skin. They usually go away on their own. You can see them near the eye, nose, lips or genitalia. Hemangiomas in these sensitive areas sometimes need to be treated so that they don’t interfere with your baby’s vision, eating, breathing, pooping.
