1. Anonychia. Absence of nails at birth is called anonychia. It is caused by failure of the nail folds to form or from failure of the development of nail plates. Anonychia may be restricted to one or more nails of the fingers or toes.
2. Deformed Nails. This is a rare anomaly and, when present, is usually a manifestation of a generalized skin disorder or a systemic disease
