While present in the pelvic region, each kidney receives its arterial supply from the common iliac arteries. As the kidney ascends, it is progressively revascularized by a series of arterial sprouts from the dorsal aorta. As the cranial vessels develop, the caudal renal arteries involute and, disappear. When the kidneys reach their final position under the suprarenal glands, they receive their arterial supply via lateral branches of abdomina aorta, which
