When you get a biopsy that turns out to be cancer, you'll find out what stage and grade it is. The grade refers to the cancer's appearance and indicates how quickly the cancer is growing. Most pathologists assign a grade from 1 to 5 based on how the cancerous cells look compared to normal prostate cells.
