Here are some options to gain better control over your bladder after prostate cancer surgery:
- Try Kegel exercises to build up your bladder muscles. Ask your doctor if he thinks they’ll help and if someone can teach you how to do them.
- Try medications. Your doctor has several he can prescribe.
- Try pads in your underwear that can catch any leaks that might happen. You can also wear adult diapers, but it’s rare for the problem to be severe enough to need them.
- Try "condom catheters," which go over your penis to catch the urine.
- Try surgery. There are different types depending on the cause of your problem.
