Parkinson's disease can make verbal communication very difficult for your loved one. Here are things that can help you understand:
- Talk to your loved one face-to-face.
- If the disease is advanced, ask yes-or-no questions.
- Repeat the part of the sentence that you understood. (For example, "You want me to get the what?")
- Ask your loved one to repeat what they’ve said, or ask them to speak slower or spell out the words you didn’t understand.
