There's no vaccine for mono and no specific medication to treat the infection. But there's plenty your teen can do to feel better. Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to ease achiness and to lower fever. If your teen has a sore throat, encourage them to gargle with salt water or use throat lozenges. They also need to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids.
