Your doctor will ask about your symptoms and your medical history. They’ll do a physical exam, with a focus on your neck, back, and shoulders. They also might test your reflexes, the strength in your hands and arms, any loss of sensation, and watch you walk.
You may get imaging tests such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). You might also be referred to a neurologist to confirm your diagnosis.
