Supportive or assistive devices can relieve pain and help you move around. Knee supports can stabilize the ligaments and tendons and lessen pain. Canes or crutches may take pressure off certain joints. Assistive devices can also prevent falls. A physical therapist can recommend what's best for you.

Some devices help you do routine things such as housework or cooking. An occupational therapist can give you suggestions.
