You can use:

  • An elevated toilet seat or safety rails
  • Grab bars inside and outside the tub or shower
  • A shower chair with back support
  • Longer handles on faucets
  • A nonskid bathtub mat
  • A handheld bath/shower hose
  • A long-handled sponge or scrub brush
  • Mitts or sponges with soap inside instead of bar soap
  • Lukewarm water, so you won’t aggravate your symptoms
  • A towel on the back of your chair or a terrycloth robe to dry off
  • Toothbrushes with built-up handles or an electric toothbrush
