What are the factors that can affect the tidal volume and total lung capacity?

Ans: Tidal volume is the amount of air exchanged during normal inspiration and expiration. It is 500 ml in a young male and 375ml in a female.
Total lung capacity is the maximum amount of air that can be held during the deepest possible breath. .
Tidal volume and lung capacity may be reduced by smoking, poor physical health, anemia, disease and age etc.
