Ans.Biological control means the control of one harmful living organism through another living organism which is not harmful to humans. This method is preferred because it is environment friendly and less expensive. Similarly biological control methods should be applied to control mosquitoes, such as:
1 . Many birds and bats feed on adult mosquitoes.
2. Wall lizards and jumping spiders destroy number of mosquito dwellings.
3. Certain types of fish devour mosquito larvae in natural waters.
4. Copepods (arthropods) also eliminate mosquito larvae.
5. Certain bacteria can be used as biopesticides for infecting and eliminating . various developmental stages of mosquitoes.
