Why does the anode carries negative charge in galvanic cell but positive charge in electrolytic cell? Justify with comments

In a galvanic cell, anode carries a negative charge due to deposition of electrons which are lost by the material acting as anode. In an electrolytic cell, anode carries positive charge because it is connected to positive terminal of the battery.
