Aluminium has a great tendency to corrosion. However, aluminium corrosion is aluminium oxide, a very hard material that actually protects the aluminium from further corrosion. Aluminium oxide corrosion also looks at lot more like aluminium, so it isn't as easy to notice as rusted iron.
