After the death of Guru Gobind Singh a look like disciple of him claimed to be the real Guru Gobind Singh who is miraculously resurrected to lead Sikhs in the war against Muslims.

Guru Gobind Singh arrived at Nander in 1708. Upon his arrival there, he came away from Badshah Bahadur Shah and started living in a separate residence. During that time, he had kept a Pathan with him for his service even as he was cautioned by some of his close associates that the Pathan was actually the grandson of Panday Khan, who was killed by the Sixth Master Guru Hargobind Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh said he would crucially need his service in future.

Justifying the fear of the Sikhs, the pathan once attacked Guru Gobind Singh and injured him in his chest. Following this, Guru Gobind Singh killed him by his sword. The wound that the Guruji suffered healed itself in about ten days time. Once again he started giving audience to the public in congregations.

In about a few days time, Bahadur Shah sent two of his men to enquire about Guruji's health. When the officers arrived at the residence of the master, they found a huge bow lying there. Sighting this, they commented that such a bow could be used only as an ornamental piece as no one could shoot an arrow using it due to its huge size. Hearing this, Guruji lifted the bow and started stringing it.

This action tore open the wound Guruji had on the chest sometime back and he started bleeding vigorously.

However, Guruji was far from accepting any medication to be done on him. He ordered that a pyre was set up with a hut like construction and it was piled with fragrant woods. Sikhs obeyed his command and set up a pyre. Once when everyone had assembled there, Guru Gobind Singh arrived in full armour and sword riding his horse.

Addressing the crowd, he ordered them not to see what was happening by turning their backs to the scene. Then he entered the pyre and disappeared from there. The entire set up was burning for the rest of the night. The whole episode occurred during night and the next morning, the Sikhs explored the site only to find that there was not a single bone remains found in the pyre. Also, there was absolutely no sign that the armour worn by the Guruji was burnt in the spot. Thus, they got convinced that the Guruji had left the place in full body along with his horse.
