MY LAST DAY AT SCHOOL

“The true art of memory is the true art of attention”

It was 20″ of February. We had completed 10 years of schooling!. During this period we made sincere friend and had associations with many people. But the day of separation from these friends and the school had reached at last. The students of qan class had arranged a : farewell party in our honour as we had done a year before. I was both happy and sad on that day. I was happy because there was no lecture listening that day. There was no fear of reciting the lessons, learning grammar and other difficult science subjects. I was sad that the bond of life long association was going to break. We were to lose our dear friends and teachers.

All of us along with the 9th class sat in the big hall. The teachers and the principal also joined us. On that day, they were very kind and loving. Mr. Hamza recited the Holy verses from the Noble Quran. A student from the 9th class delivered a farewell speech. After him, our monitor also delivered a speech offering thanks to the 9th class.

The 9th class had arranged a variety show and cultural programmed. Then we were invited to refreshment. We were served with sweets, ‘samosas”, fruit chat and tea. The fruit chat was very tasty. Everyone was demanding more and more.

“We don’t remember days, we remember moments”

Now it was afternoon. The 9th class bade us farewell formally. Before leaving school, I decided to cast a last glance at the school. I went to visit the library and the science laboratory. I remembered the happy hours spent there. I was lost in them, when shook me and we started to the gate. My mind was crowded with the thoughts of my friends and kind and loving teachers and sympathetic headmaster, headmistress.
